Angry G540 faulting after some motor wires touched frame

Rather annoyed. The insulation on one of the motor cables from my G540 fell off and some of the wires may have touched the frame. Now the fault light is on permanently, even after repowering a number of times. Can this damage one of the drivers? If so, is it possible to disconnect the faulty one so that I can use a spare 4th one instead?

Should contact gecko drive support. They can figure out if it's a individual drive or the carrier board that is faulty.
