Question Rover CNC machines & ProEngineer

Does anybody have experience with Biesse Rover CNC machines? I want to try direct control from ProEngineer.

Does anybody use ProEngineer for design and preparation for manufacturing?

We use Pro-Eng/Man for the programming of our machining centre and are not impressed at all. It takes ages to create a programme. It sometimes takes 2 hrs to create a programme of 15minutes running time on the machine.

I am a former field technician for Biesse. I do not ,however, have experience with Pro-Engineer. I am unsure what you are trying to do when you say "direct control" the machine. In this industry it can mean alot of different things! I am assuming you mean using the ProE in some form of CAM capacity. This should be as easy as having ProE configure their post for a NC500,NC1000,Osai.....whichever control supports your Rover. If any other questions feel free to email me at [email protected]

We have a 2001 Biesse Rover 24. We need a cam package or post processor to go from dxf file to the machine. Any ideas? Anyone have a postprocessor for alphacam or others they are willing to sell us?
