How to correctly adjust tool geometry on Star SR20-RII?

Hello everyone can anyone guide me on how to correctly set the geometry on the gang tools. I'm not sure that I am setting my tools on center correctly on Y axis. Thank you

Re: How to correctly adjust tool geometry on Star SR20-RII?

I used to write a "centering" program. Something like this:

    (close collet)
T0101(USUALLY AS A "JUST IN CASE" I LIKE TO CLEAR THE OFFSET BY CALLING UP A TOOL THAT I AM NOT CENTERING)
    G0T0
    M3 S1500
    COOLANT ON
(THEN CALL UP THE TOOL I WANT TO CENTER)
    T0202
    G0X(MAT. DIA. + CLEARANCE)
    G1W.050F.002
    G1X-.030F.002
    G1X(MAT. DIA. + CLEARANCE)
    M5
    COOLANT OFF

I would start the offset about -.005 and do a test cut. Check the tit then adjust accordingly then run the cycle again. Then repeat until I liked the surface.

This process works for most tools. Other tools you'll have to be more creative.

When I got really slick, I would use #500 macros for tool call-up and material diameter. This made it easier for using the same program on multiple machines.
