I've managed to avoid tailstocks for 9 years of programming various machine but the time has come. I reviewed the machine manuals and tried to do what would work and that resulted in tailstock interference alarms. The manual isn't very helpful at all. Next I reviewed a program someone else had written back in 1998 for another one of our machines when someone else owned it and that didn't help. There are a few components so I will list them and ask the questions wit what I know and need to know.

M10 tail body disconnect?

M11 tail body connect?

M31 tail stock forward?

M32 Tail stock backward?

I've got the quill extending through use of m10 but need the tail body to advance to the limit switch in order for the quill to reach distance. I can't operate with the tail body in the way. There isn't enough room for a drilling tool if I leave the body stationary. What moves the body forward and back?
