SX2 Y axis ball screw length?

Just ordered the SX2 base from LMS to replace my current x2 base. Instead of the Y axis 4", it will give me 5" in the Y axis. What size ball screw will I need for the new SX2 base? I called LMS and they said the regular Y axis screw for the X2 base measures total 10" with a 7" thread length. Would this mean that I would need the exact length ball Screw? I already have the complete cnc fusion cnc kit#2 on my X2, so I am only in need of the longer ball screw. Cnc Fusion says they use 5/8" x .200 pitch ball screws. Does anyone know the exact length ball screw needed? I'm sure I can just cut a ball screw also, so does anyone know where I can purchase a precise brand ball screw somewhere on the net? Thank you gor any help as I have a job coming up and am in need of this info to set up the new SX2 base and get started.

If it were up to me, given the information you've provided, I would wait until I had a base in hand and then get some concrete measurements for sizing a new ball screw, unless you have the capability to machine the ends of a screw yourself. In which case, order a screw of the same pitch and diameter and then trim to fit once you have the part.

Keep trying to get in touch with the CNCFusion guys, their kit number 5 (CNC Fusion) Looks to be for the SX2 If i understand correctly. They may be able to provide you with just a ballscrew, or information at the very least.

Yeah, I agree on waiting until the base arrives and taking accurate measurements. LMS told me the SX2 lead screw that comes standard measures 10" and thread length is 7". I just measured the X2 cnc kit from cncfusion and that Y axis ball screw had the exact same measurements of 10" total length and 7" thread length. I might get lucky and see if it works on the SX2 base. I do also have the capability to machine the ends of a screw at my buddies CNC shop, so I will def keep that in mind.

Hmm CNC Fusion lists their ball screws at 5/8" with a .200 pitch. I measured the ball screws and the do have a .200 pitch but the OD of the screws keep measuring out .610 ??

yeah so? they're rolled ballscrews, they aren't going to be exactly .6250000.
Ever measure any other type of screw? none are exactly to the decimal of their fractional size.

O.k. great to know. This way a .61 or .631 ball will be OK to get.

you can't get any ballnut for any ballscrew, get the one that is sold with that ballscrew.from the same manufacturer.
