    truing lathe chuck jaws

I had a piece of stock slip in my chuck while drilling and since then my runout has gone from .001 to .010
I would like to true the jaws again but I don't have a tool post grinder, or a truing jig. Is there any other way?.
I have been told you can use a carbide tipped boring bar?.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    thank you wrenchcruncher

I am also interested in knowing that.
I was thinking about getting 4 jaws independent chuck to achieve the level of trueness that I need manually.

i always use boring bar for jaws, you need to find something a little smaller than the part you are holding but not to small you run out of stroke and it needs to be thin so you can get to the sholder of the jaws with bar(not to thin that the chuck crushes it). set your to then go into mdi and call up the tool and the diameter of the part you are chucking give it a speed and then just hand wheele it off or wright a little prog.
individual who perceives a solution and is willing to take command. Very often, that individual is crazy.
