    Md1-stopped working

    Hi all-

I finally have the rs-232 working, and now the mill has died!

The mill was working fine, left it powered up, and started working on a lathe project. I heard the lathe drop power. It did not have any faults on the screen, but it was locked up, and would not power back up. Powered down and back up . Nothing. Tried again. Still nothing.

Checked the fuses, checked the transformers. All appear good.

When I power the mill on, usually the diagnostic screen runs on the left monitor. Then it will power on.

Now it runs on the right monitor. It says everything is OK.

The left screen just has a flashing curser. That is all.

    Any ideas where to start?

Find the personality card and locate the switch block nearest the front edge of the board and switch the switch furthest from the edge of the board in that switch block. Power up and see if the fault changes.

    Bloke-

There are two switch blocks stacked on top of each other. Which one. Upper or lower?

    Bloke-Everybody

While I was waiting one your response about which switch bank to use, someone told me there hurco did the same thing. They said there issue was the video board under the keyboard. I swapped that and presto chango the md1 powered up.

    Thanks for the help.

Just curious, which switch? What does it do?

    Thanks for the help

It turns the diagnostics off and sometimes will let it boot by bypassing an unimportant check.
