I finally mounted my new Gecko G201 drives, and now I'm waiting on my steppers to come in. However, I'm not too savy on reading specs and figuring things out the first time, so I think I'll ask here before I buy some more expensive stuff destined for "future projects" (aka-- useless for now). Luckily, from what I hear, my shiny new G201s will never need to go into that category

I ordered 3 Nema 34 steppers from Toronto Surplus and Scientific. They are 4 wire, bipolar. The specs simply state: 2.5V @ 4.1A (the picture of the label simply says DC 2.35V). Here is where I am fuzzy, because I'm not sure if I need to apply the 1/3 of the rated amps guideline, or the 2/3 of the rated amps guideline listed in the white papers at Gecko. Either way, I should only need 8.2A at most. Right???

I've found some 48VDC, 10A power supplies. If I happen to require the full 8.2A, will the 1.8A of margin be enough? (Wow, all that talk just to ask a little question!)
