Got a newbie question for those that are familiar with FlashCut retrofit kits. I have a Grizzly G0619 (an X3 type mill from what I understand). This is purely for hobby use and will be my first experience with CNC. I'm trying to decide between the Compact kit for $2,400 or the Pro kit for $3,800. Neither of which includes ball screws. Is the additional $1,400 worth it?

On my 0619 the compact kit didn't work on the stock machine. I need to install ball screws. I like the software and controller (actually using it on a small cnc router system) but Flashcut hasn't updated the software in quite a while...unless you are using it with a plasma machine. Supposedly there was an update coming out last fall...I haven't seen it though.

It's coming soon. One of the reasons I'm looking at maybe doing a conversion.
