I went to fire up our lathe after it had set over the weekend, and I have encounterd a slightly major problem. It doesn't want to feed or rapid from G code at all.

Example, If in mdi I command a G0 Z 1.0 the cycle start light just stays on and the turrett never moves.

Or, If I jog the turret to lets say, the middle of travel of both X & Z and then mdi a G28 U 0.0 W 0.0 the machine does not return to reference position

I can jog/handwheel and the turrett moves fine, the machine will zero return as well

I Just printed of the paramaters and I'm going to go double check those to make sure nothing has changed, but dues any body else have any ideas or stuff to try?

I don't think it would be feed hold button as the cycle start light usually goes out, there is a function called Start-Lock (STLK) This will inhibit axis movement, but M,S & T codes will still work.
Try running just an S and an M code to see if this works, if so check the diagnostic G120 bit#1=0 for the STLK if it is =1, then it is on.

It was the door interlock saftey switch,.....it was slightly gummed up and stuck..
