After building my first small router that I used as a proof of concept design,I decided to build a bigger one. After all that I have learned here and from taking on the first cnc router project, I have a different idea that I want to run passed you guys.
I built my first machine out of 1/4" plexiglass, so I could see the operation in motion. Well I soon found out the plexi was not enven close to being strong enough to be accurate it bends easliy. I have been studying the problem aeras of this machine, becasue that was what it was built for, and along the way I have come up with this big change for the z axis. I found a pic here in the fourms that I photoshop in order to better explain my question.
It seems to me that the z axis should be as close as it could be inline with the y axis to eliminate any real shake. Does this sound right to you?
I will attach a side view animated gif to show you what I mean.
p.s. it looks like you have to click on it to see it in action.
