    All axis runs away

    1995 fadal 4020.
Cnc would not power up. Checked DC power supply. 110v in nothing out.
Swapped relay on power supply. No change.
    Ordered ele-1071.
Swapped out old 1220-something with the ele-1071.

Throw the breaker, hit the cnc power on button, all 3 axis run away, on plus.

Had to throw the breaker to stop.

Pictures of before wiring and after.

    Any suggestions?

Usually when an axis runs away, it's because the servos aren't getting a signal from the encoders. The encoders are what tell the motor where it is; without them, it's just a motor - if you give it power, it spins.

    Re: All axis runs away

Had someone out to trouble shoot today. Found that the 1030-1c board was dragging down the 12 volt to -1/2 volt, and +4 volts.

He removed the module responsible for rs232 from the 1030-1c board, put the board back in, and machine started and ran normally.

Once that component on the board is replaced, we should be all set.

Ok. So had to send the 1030-1c out for repair. 3 components were replaced on the board. When testing the rs232 connections, they also found a bad rs232 selector switch with grounding problem. Problems solved.
