I am just starting with Fusion360, comparing it to another CAD package and doing similar parts in each. I am making a coupler with some driving pins. I start with a flat drawing, and then extrude from that point. See picture.

How do I draw the bottom of the part, I tried selecting the bottom circle and doing a negative extrude and that doesn't work well. Am I going about this in reverse?

Not sure I understand you correctly but if I do you make sketch visible by clicking on light bulb then press pull same as you have with other parts.

It's hard to tell without seeing the sketch.
Easiest way is to probably start with the bottom first.

Or, select the bottom face of the outer ring, and start a new sketch. You should be able to just select the outside circle and choose press/pull. You may need to hold down the control key and select all the areas inside the circle.

I have not used Fusion but you need to rotate the drawing to get at the other size if this is like many other cad packages.
