Hello,
I have retrofit my old lathe. The cnc-control is about Mach3 with 2 printerports the os is win7 home pro. In the diagnoctics mode I can see the spindel speed sensors working. In the manual or automatic screen does the spindle speed display not work. The spindlespeed is set manually with a mechanical gearbox. The machine with Mach3 works good, but only the real sindlespeed display is not working. I tested with fast and low speed.
Does someone knows what can I do?

If your lathe is powered by a fixed-speed motor and a gearbox, Mach3 isn't going to be able to control its speed. If you have an encoder, or an optical or magnetic sensor and an optical or magnetic dot on it to read, it can tell you how fast it's going, but it won't be able to adjust it. However, it can synchronize the feedrate to that RPM reading so it can make threads, etc. Here's some discussion of a similar issue in the Mach3 support forum: https://www.machsupport.com/forum/in...?topic=17592.0
