Haas TM 2P making noise in the Z axis

    New beebie here,
what would cause the Z axis to make noise only when using 100% rapid? Hoping its not the ball screw but maybe the belt. I grease the machine once a month with Haas grease.
    Thanks in advance.

I don't believe the Z axis is belt drive on TM machines. I would suspect the thrust bearings if the noise is only present at 100% rapid. It could also be a ballscrew but the thrust bearings are much cheaper so I'd start there.

We had that on our VF1 and it was the ball screw. It slowly stared to get worse so you could hear it when it was moving at lower rapid speeds. It makes a lovely noise at 25% rapid.
