You have to start a new project then hit FILE / IMPORT / IMPORT-BITMAP

Then it will list raster formats

If you hit FILE / OPEN then it only lists vector formats

Thanks SignTorch , on first try File >New then when a clean slate opened File>Import opened a submenu with the >import bitmap option greyed out......but after closing the Vectric pgm and reloading , things worked right .....I could instantly see all the raster files and instantly load one...

    Thank you Much !
