    Mastercam Art Toolpath

    Hi all,

First time I want to machine an image with mastercam art.
So I use new art base surface from image, then in import image height I use 2mm
X=400 and y=400 (because I want to machine the part in 400x400 mm stock ).
Later I use spline for the image I want to machine, second xform contour 2 mm, third flatten the outside and smooth the inside.

Then i use organic convex parabola of width 4 mm and height 4 mm.

And final I use toolpath art base surface using a tool to machine.
And my problem is that the tool is working on the air and does not machine the part. :drowning:
Can you please help me with that?

    Thank you

I think i give up, too many hours for that and no solution, except the problem with tool working on air, i also want to move the origin of the part to the highest point of lower right corner.
Mastercam always place the image to the lowest left corner.

    Re: Mastercam Art Toolpath

Thank you all for your replies, really helping, just some questions:
    1) When I use 2mm image height (import image) and 4 mm height in organic, does that mean that my stock should be minimum 6 mm z?
because when I use stock setup and i give this value then the tool is working well on the part.
    2) Why bounding box does not work for z? gives 0 value. it should be 6 right?
    3) for my cnc machine (maxima cms 5axis) i use a tool on head to get the x/y/z coordinates for g55. (lower left corner, top of the part)
example: tool diameter 157 mm, value for top of the part -486 so g55 -686 ( -486 - 157 ). in mastercam stock setup origin is in lower left corner, my measure is from top of the part.(lower left)
So should I add the 6 mm value from stock setup also to the G55? -686 -6 ?
    4) In mastercam I use 2 toolpaths roughing and finishing running separate g codes. lets say roughing toolpath ok, but when i load finish toolpath does require any extra value for Z? Or it reads
the previous toolpath and knows that is lower. (same toolpath group)
and final question 5) in large gcode files I get " NO PROGRAM SPACE IN MEMORY " esspecialy in fininh toolpaths. the solution I found but didnt work for me is to delete some programs and retry.
is any othe way to solve this? maybe split the NC code ?

I am sorry for these to many questions, and thanks!
