    can i run this 3 phase motor?? i think im missing something....

    so i bought this vfd and spindle cause i was told that it would fit the 5 axis CNC perfectly.
    its a chinese spindle and VFD.
    i wired it up correctly. So it seems...
    I've also input all the variables in the frequency drive that I had to. To my Knowledge.

    this is what i put inside the VFD settings:

    max rpm 1800
    motor frequency 300hz
    motor voltage 220
    motor amps 5.6
    motor power 1.5kw

    I tested the continuity of all the wires:
    U goes to pin1 on the motor
    V goes to pin2 on the motor
    W goes to pin3 on the motor

    I also tested the current of the 3 wires coming out of the vfd.
    they ranged from a121 to 122.5

    i have single phase 220 coming in from my panel.

    So everything seems to be setup correctly as far as i can see.
    but my motor wont turn. I can see it wanting to turn and it creates a humming sound as well.
    I just cant figure it out.

    my Question is.
    can i actually run this 3 phase motor off of this setup? does the fact that i have single phase electricity from the panel mess things up?
    I thought the VFD turned my single phase into 3 phase? Isnt that what the 3 wires are for?

    thanks!

    What are details on the motor and VFD?

    these are the specs for the vfd:

    and these are the specs for the motor:

    this is a page from the maual. ive tried to autoTune it but i dont know if im doing it right. when they say uncouple the motor from its load. what does that mean? when i try to do this i dont see the end come up on the display.

    ive attached the manual just in case it helps.

    Uncouple from the load for auto tuning means let the motor run free of any shaft attachment etc or anything that may load the motor.
    That is a 18000rpm motor , I assume it is 2 pole?

    Post a photo of how you have it wired, you can not check the output voltage with a normal meter

    You are missing a few setup Parameters here is what is needed to get you running

    Mactec54 SAJ VFD Parameters

    F0.00=1

    F0.01=0

    F0.02=0

    F0.03= 1 ( Drive Pot Control )

    F0.04=1

    F0.05=0

    F0.08=300

    F0.09=0

    F0.10=300

    F0.11=0

    F0.14=200

    F018=12 ( This is adjustable lower, if the drive faults on startup then you need to add )

    F0.19=12 ( This is adjustable lower, if the drive faults on startup then you need to add )

    F0.20=1 ( This sets the Factory Defaults )

    F0.21=0 ( This unlocks the Drive so you can change the Parameters )

    F2.01=1.5Kw ( Motor Rated Power )

    F2.02=300 ( Motor Hz )

    F2.03=18000 ( Motor RPM )

    F2.04=230 ( Motor Voltage )

    F2.05=5.6 ( Motor Amps )

    After you have set these, then you can use the Auto Tune this Parameter is set to
    F2.11=1

    so now that the motor works and spins beautifly. does that mean i cant use sensorless vector mode? when i put it back to sensorless vector it does the same thing again.and starts humming and not spinning.
