    Alarm 090 Reference Return Incomplete

The battery for the X/Z axis controller died and now I get a message:
300 X Axis needs Zero Return
300 Z Axis needs Zero Return

When I try to ref return the axis, I get 090 Reference Return Incomplete

First: check the battery levels for the drives in question.
Second: are you setting the APC reference for the appropriate drive? The TT1800 is a 2 path machine...you might be setting the upper path when the lower path is the one in alarm.
Third: review that you are doing it correctly.

It was the battery for the upper turret.
Replaced the battery, btu can't ref return the X/Z axes.

Not sure how to set the APC reference.
    Do you have any documentetion?

    Thanks

The 300 alarm means that you need to set the APC (absolute position coder) reference position, because the battery died and the number is no longer held in memory.

Note to self: Replace batteries at least once a year...or worst case, when the battery warning occurs.

Look for the instructions for "APC 300 Alarm on a lathe

How to reference home with an Absolute Position Coder (APC)"

    Hey, Don.

I run 3 Nakamura WTs with the 18i controller. Very similar to your Doosan. I've had the same problem as you're having. I have the documentation on how to reset your axes (at least it works on our Nakamuras). Send me an email or fax number and I'll get it to you. Since they're both 18i controllers, you might want to give it a try.

    Hi Dhardt.
I just read your service bulletin for resetting the "APC 300" alarm on a Doosan. It's MUCH easier on your Doosan than on my Naks.
