So the color is great but if you run your finger across it a white scuff appears. Washing removes the scuff but this really shows the lint.
It looks best when wet as a flat deep brown.

2 options.
Hard anodising is durable, most auto parts use it.
You will need to outsource this.
Clear-cote aka lacquer, may work depending on use.
