HELP - Wiring C10, Charge Pump, and Spindle Control

    Hello Everyone

Little background, I have a CNC router and I am using 5V from the computer power supply to power all the board (c10, Charge Pump, PWM Control board etc)

The problem i am having is when the computer is turned on the spindle starts and will run till mach 3 is open and the reset is pressed (Mach 3 takes control) and the spindle will turn off. As you can imagine this is a safety problem.

I do have a charge pump. (C4) that to my understanding detects a signal from Mach 3 and turns everything on once mach 3 takes control. The way i have it wired right now it works for all the servos, but it does not work for the spindle.

I can find wire guides for the charge pump to C10 and spindle control board to C10 but i cannot find a wire guide that includes all 3 of them. Can someone help me with the wiring of the 3 boards?

    Thanks
    Mike

    Hi
do you have a link for the C10 to C6 wiring diagram you have used ?

when I see the C10 + C6 wiring diagram you have followed
it should be possible to work out how to dissable the spindle drive :-
possibly using an additional relay wired to the spindle drives stop input

You should preferably have a E-stop relay circuit set up, the watchdog, or in this case charge pump should have a output in this string, the charge pump will then disable the Control-on to all motors until the system is ready.
This is such an ongoing problem this forum particularly is littered with similar posts.
Also the E-stop circuit relay should have a contact on it that advises Mach (or controller) that an E-stop has taken place.

    Hi Mike

one possible solution using a 2 pole relay with a 5V coil

    Attachment 332890

one pole of the new relay breaks the common to the C6 relays for the forward / reverse control
the second pole controls the C10 enable / E-stop

I know the wiring that i have now is wrong and that i will have to rewire it.

Here is the how to hookup the Charge Pump to the C10

    http://cnc4pc.com/Tech_Docs/1_C1GR4_1.pdf

Now in that diagram how do i hook up the spindle control. Do i hook up the 5v power of the C41 board to the same line as the E stop... After the E stop?

If i am hooking up the EN and the Estop to the second relay, how do i get the C10 to output the signal to turn on the relay?

My understanding of the C10 EN is if there is no voltage, none of the ports work

    Hi Mike

with my diagram the extra relay effectively converts C4's single pole relay into a 2 pole relay

provided the PC is sending 12.5 Khz pulses to the charge pump (via the C10 when its enabled !)

one set of contacts on the extra relay replaces the C4 charge pump boards relay contact as shown in the diagram in your post 5

    Attachment 332906

the N/O switch enables the system to start as in your diagram so there is no change

the extra pole on the added relay I've used to break the common connection to the C6 boards relays
that provide the forward and reverse selection on spindle drive

    as in post 4
