    chinese 6040 cnc router

    Hi all,

So just just to get me started I acquired a 6040 bench router. In the process of making room and getting it on the pc, however it has no limit switch's or probe.

Only going to run 3 switches for homing, what do you guys recommend and how would you recommend wiring them to this breakout board? The same is with the probe?

    Any advice would be great.

    Cheers Ryan

The six pin unpopulated header XYZ is for the home switches ; ground for all three is the same (the left row from what I can see on the picture)

    hey mate,

so your saying of the 6 unpopulated pins the 3 on the right are the one that go to the homing switch and the other side of the switch just goes to ground (earth to the chassis?) or goes bck to the left hand row of 3 pins?

    Cheers Ryan

The three left should be chassis ground indeed, but just run all the wires and don't connect it to the chassis to prevent ground loops and other nasty stuff (not all the boxes are wired 100% correct, better safe than sorry)
So top 2 pins are X, switch should be connected between those two. middle 2 are Y, bottom 2 are Z

    Does this help?

When i put one side of the multimeter on the left row of solder points if i do the other side of the multimeter to the db25 i get continuity. but not on the right set of solder points

yes the left solder points go to the negative on the 24v inlet power wiring
