Hello,
I was using Hyper Terminal on windows XP through a serial port to a '98 Haas VF4 and had no problems.
Now, I have Hyper Terminal on a Windows 10 computer, trying to connect to the same machine and having problems.
The XP computer has an onboard serial port, while the Windows 10 computer has a PCIe to serial, but I have tried a USB to serial with no effect.
When sending a text document over, the program will crash, create random letters, or input the text very slowly without creating a successful connection to the machine.
When doing this, the machine will display some errors saying that the settings are incorrect , like parity and baud rate, but I have made sure that those are correct.
Current settings on the machine are below and I have made sure to match those on Hyper Terminal and the actual device port settings.
Baud rate: 115200
Parity: Even
Stop Bit: 1
Synchronization: Xon/Xoff
Rs232 Data bits: 7
Tried lowering Baud to 38400, 19200, and 9600 and same result.
Is windows 10 just not compatible to communicate with this machine?
