    problem with cutmaster 52

    Hello everyone,

Ive been having on and off problems with my cutmaster 42 so on friday the esab rep gave me a new cutmaster 52 to use for the weekend. Its being used on a cnc table so i set it up and burned two sheets of 3/16". Perfect. On the third sheet it started fine but about 5min into cutting it stopped piercing. i changed out all the consumables (tip, electrode, shielding cap and even the start cartridge)...still having the same issue. its acting like there is no ground attached and just gouging the material. no settings have changed and its the same material. Before i call the rep and voice my concerns with the unit i thought some of you guys may have an idea for me to try. Thanks in advance!

Make sure the torch plug is seated all the way in. Had a issue with mine where I did not have it properly seated and could not get full power to the torch. It may feel seated, but make sure the collar is .03-.06 from shoulder.
Is your pierce height in spec. I lowered mine by .025.
