Hi all,
I have an Amada Pega357 and have spent nearly a year trying to get it to work. We have spent thousands on technicians, none of whom seem to have a clue what is wrong with this 12 tonne paperweight. Every time we turn it on, it makes a gut wrenching shaking noise, as though desperately trying to shred itself to pieces, then gives me a 420 error. that is the main recurring problem, but just the tip of the iceberg. The machine doesn't seem to want to respond to anything and even when it does, it either instantly gives me a new error message(I have lost count of how many different errors I have encountered over the year) or does something completely illogical. I have tested many things and tried many things, I can't even remember all of what I did, since some of it was in December last year. Nothing seems to be wrong with the machine, except how ruggedly determined it seems not to want to work. Has anyone ever encountered this problem with Fanuc machinery before? I'm at my wits end.
Ok, so what I can say with confidence has been done is the following:
Swapped drive leads X and Y around to check if wrong connection
Reloaded all parameters
Checked phase direction on all 3-ph motors
cleaned Servos and brushes
Checked all cables and wires for continuity
Tested all motor windings for consistency
Checked for mechanical friction on ballscrews, belt and linear rails
Checked Thyristor/transistor/voltage regulators on VCU
Checked decoupling capacitors
On a side note, It is the y-axis that makes the death rattle when the machine is turned on. If I use OT bypass to jog the X axis, it dances all around the place very randomly
