Hey. . I am only 22 years old. . Still young

At 22 years I had been a fully certified Fitter, Turner, Toolmaker (Tool and Diemaker in most countries, I did my apprenticeship in New Zealand) for a year. I finished a 10,000 hour indentured apprenticeship on my 21st birthday. That was almost 50 years ago, it is not likely anyone anywhere could do the same these days.

Imagine if they were still doing it the same old way as they did it in the 50's.....with the exact science of hindsight I think I would have been a brothel owner......that business never changes....LOL.

I'm 20. Got about a year until I finish two undergraduate engineering degrees with experience in Manual and CNC machining as well as oxy-acetylene, TIG, and MIG welding. (SAE Collegiate Design Series -> Formula SAE, Mini Baja SAE, Clean Snowmobile Challenge)

At least we have the satisfaction of knowing that the whippersnappers of today don't have as much time as they think they have to accomplish what they think they are going to accomplish. Then it's "Welcome to the club!"

40...and a half. Been cutting metal singe I was 14. Finished my tool and die makers apprenticeship when I was 19. Gonna start my own shop one of these days!!....

OOps! I was 21. In Pennsylvania, our apprenticeship for Tool & Die Makers was 8000 hrs otj training, 4 years of math ,science and design classes in the evening and various personal tool requirements...most of which we were required to make on our own time. About one out of ten applicants recieved an apprenticeship, and about one of five completed it. It was tough, but it was one of the greatest learning opportuniyties I've ever experienced.
