    cnc with a heated spindle

    Anyone knowledgeable to create a spindle pin/ collet with heat180- 300+ degrees...... temp controlleable

    Why do you want to do that? Usually, we try to keep our spindles and tooling cool.

    Since 145 deg is about max for spindle bearing grease before it causes issues, don't think this is a good idea.

    Well, you have to either use bearings that could withstand high temperatures (ceramic?), or insulate the hot tool from the rest of the spindle somehow.
    I'm curious, what is the application for a heated rotary tool?

    I assumed that would bring some problems but what if the actual colett and drive attached are tendem to the actual motor via belting(off-center)! ..i'm attaching a pic.

    Thanks citizen...that got me a whole lot thinking of ceramic bearings....Great !! that should answer UNDERTIRE's reply.......Application.?......still on experimentals11...heres a pic of the spindle especially done off center for the purpose

    If you get the spindle seriously hot, what keeps that rubber belt from melting?

    Ceramic bearings still need lubrication....

    According to Boca Bearing Company, full ceramic bearings can be run dry.

    Well, that would be a first I've seen dry ceramic bearings, but maybe worth a shot. Air bearing spindle might be a good option.

    WOW DIDNT EXPECT THAT COMING ..WHERE DO I GET THEM .......ANYTHING THAT WORKS IS WORTH TRYING ....MAYBE EVEN A COMBINATION !!
