Re: Digital twin
hello digital twin is a fancy term for machine simulation
of couse it works, and it is not a new thing, but decades old
it was developed to help find fast possible interference positions during cutting, for complex parts, on multiaxis/complex machines; thus it helps at a level where normal aproach is too slow or complicated, thus it is not effective for simple parts where you are sure by default
for a simple lathe/miliing part, you may not need it, but for a multitasking machine like for a process that uses a turret with 15 tools, and 2nd spindle, or a 5ax doing large work ( close to travel limits ), etc, you can imediatly see that is too time consuming, and such a simulation is welcomed
also, for some motions that involves pivots/rotary axis, some stuff can not be predicted ( without good machine knowledge ), untill the machine starts moving, like the positioning sense/direction, etc, and other things
if you wish, we can talk more on this subject; can i help you with something ? kindly
