anyone have any issues with UC 300eth controller and software?

i been trying to get my cnc router running dependably for longer than id like to talk about with a C62 and a M44B from cnc4pc. told it should work fine. Then told to solder on a resistor on the m44b because there was a issue. then i was told they would send a new board. Then i was told there is a software issue. so i finally got a new version sent to me that suppose to come out in a few weeks and i still can not get it to run reliably. I had it running for a short time now it wont even reset. Ext.e-stop triggered is the fault that comes up randomly. The jumper is set to not use a remote pendant and none is installed either. dont want to bash anyone online. just want to fix this. if anyone has had similar results or has info to share that would be great. also if you know of a proven set up that uses uccnc software by Ethernet let me know as i may be moving on from this hardware soon. i have had zero luck. i will also contact cncdrive and get there thoughts also .thank you K

I have one UC300ETH-5LPT and UCCNC , it works without problems for me.
    I can't tell anything about the M44B unfortunately, I don't have one.

If you can't remove the reset could be the e-stop input or limits inputs, check those settings, check the diagnostics page to see which is active.

thank you for the info. what hardware are you running? boards and such if your not using the m44?

I'm running the UC300ETH-5LPT: CNCdrive - motion controls
The board has 5 pieces of LPT port like connectors. All you need is connect a IDC to DB25 cable to get a printer port like connection.
I have 2 different breakout boards connected to the ports, but both of them are noname chinese ones bought off ebay.

without touching anything....on the I/O monitor 1/l10 flashes and estop trips. sometimes can reset it for a few seconds sometimes not at all.

If you haven't added any resistors, and still have the original board, you need to use the latest version of UCCNC.

I have a regular M44, but haven't connected anything to it yet to test it.

i have tried original CNC4PC m44b board, with resistor and without resistor. Also with the software CNC$PC sent me. Just ordered new factory cncdrive board for the UC300.

Re: anyone have any issues with UC 300eth controller and software?

I have just built a new control box using UC300ETH connected to two cheap Chinese BOBs and 4 x DQ542MA drivers. I am not currently using the rest of the UC300ETH inputs/outputs, but I have DB25 connectors connected to two of them. Not using the analog inputs/outputs at all. Moved to Ethernet from USB. My spindle is Modbus controlled, also via Ethernet, which is why I don't need the analog outputs at all. I have had no issues with the UC300ETH and UCCNC except when switching between Mach3 and UCCNC it seems that the Mach3 plugin crashes the UC300ETH network setup and requires a reset to factory defaults. CNC Drive is working on this issue and it is probably connected to the plugin and to the fact that I have a LAN switch in between also, so connection is via a router. The plugin is not yet released officially, still just a test release. Anyway, if I just run UCCNC (or Mach3) I have no issues at all.

I made two small modifications of the hardware to allow me building my control box in a better, more user friendly way.

    1. Removed the power plug and hard wired the power connector internally to my 5V supply.
    2. Added an external reset button to make the switching issue between Mach3 and UCCNC a "non-issue". This way I can easily live with having to reset the UC300ETH now and then.

No regrets in buying the UC300ETH and UCCNC, knowing everything I know today, I would still buy one.

What is your recommendation to buy UC300ETH or UC400ETH? What are the differents? Thanks.

i have tried original CNC4PC m44b board, with resistor and without resistor.
The last message I got from Arturo said that the M44 would be damaged if you ran version 1.2028 with the added resistors on the board.

    That depends on your needs.
The UC400 has the equivalent of 2 parallel ports.
The UC300 has the equivalent of 5 parallel ports, plus 2 each analog inputs and outputs.

In my opinion the UC300ETH is a better option since it gives you many alternatives for the future. It has so many I/O ports that it should cover every need. Also if you need analog in/outputs that is the only possibility. Of course, if your BOB has Aout then that is as good, or even better because the power supply for the UC300ETH is the same even for the Aout, so it is not isolated from the 5V logic, so an external Aout may be better. But... the UC400ETH has 2 standard LPT type ports, so that should be enough for most people also.

Regardless of which, I can't really recommend anything since my only experience is with the UC300ETH and the UC300USB before that. For detailed differences you should have a look on the CNC Drive web page.

Download the manuals and check out the details.

I read the different on their product catalog. One advantage or not on UC400ETH, you can use with mach3. But all in all, it is better to have US300ETH, more I/O function than mach3.

There's a Mach3 plugin for the UC300eth as well. You can get it from their forum.
All of the CNC Drive motion controllers will work with both Mach3 and UCCNC.
