Mori Seiki CV-500 connection with PC...

    Hello everyone,
I'm working with a Mori Seiki CV-500, and unfortunately they are a neophyte in this field (I am a Computer Engineer).

I ask you, what is the easiest way to transfer a program from a PC to the machine? Of course it's the serial port, but I tried it and I from 'always error (usually framing error).

First, I have to use that port, the NC or the GOP? What is the difference between the two?

You have to use some special program to transfer or you can simply copy the from a DOS window on the com port?
Of course I tried to set symmetrically in all parameters with which baud rate, stop bits, parity, etc ... but me 'always mistake ...

And what about the cable for connection on rs232 port? It's correct this cable:

Machinery RS232 communications settings for CNC controls including fanuc and mitsubishi

Thanks in advance to those who want to help me ...

    Greetings...

    A:I

    Hello
    Could you solve the problem?
I’m using “OPEN COMMUNCATION FOR FANUC (V50.0)” to transfer part programs and other data with all FANUC CNC (old 0, 16, and new 31i).
It´s the easiest and best program I know.
It works very well with both RS232 and ETHERNET connection.
I also use it for DNC operation.
Attached with the program run file you can get the detailed manuals for the setting up.

You can download from the following link:

    also from:

    Mitsubishi Control...
Those early ones don't actually use the GOP for comm. Any serial program should work, framing error could be stop bit and word length not matching. All parameters for that should be in the Mitsubishi manual.

According to my experience not all the Serial Communication programs work with FANUC CNC. In fact only few ones work properly.
Especially when working in DNC mode and transferring data at high speed (> 9600 bauds).
I think this is because FANUC CNC have a very small input buffer and require a quick response from the communication program in the PC.
As far as I know “Open Communication for FANUC” is the only application that can be used with all FANUC CNC and both RS232 / ETHERNET communication.

If anybody know other application I could try in our machines as we have very old FANUC CNC with RS232 (0,16,21) and also new CNC with ETHERNET (31i).
