Aluminium wood working CNC with rotary axis and 2 motors in X axis.

    Hi guys,
I am to build a CNC from aluminium with dimensions 2mX1.2m and I need to include an additional axis for rotary motion/lathe. Motion parts will be ballscrews, linear bearings and linear guides probably from China
It will be mostly used in wood working and I do not need cutting speeds higher than 3.5m/min.
I need X axis to be driven by two motors, Y and Z axis by one motor, and 1 motor for the rotary axis, so totally need 5 motors and 5 drivers(???).

    1. Is it ok to connect two motors to one driver so that a G540 could do the job for all 5 axis?.
    2. What are the electronics combination you suggest to buy?
    3. Should I buy one driver per motor?
    4. Is there any 5 axis bob?
    5. Any info/tip on what should I take care of now that I am going to add a rotary axis for lathe?

PS. I need this 2nd machine to be more rigid than my first one (1.8mX1m has been built using aluminium profiles, chinese ballscrews/bearings and guides, G203V, C11 BOB). By the way, the 1st machine is performing well and it still works, brings money to me (built in 2013), which is amazing for a newbie constructor like me, so a big thank you to all cnc zone community.

    Thanks in advance.

    1) No
    2) It depends on a lot of factors. Mainly, exactly what performance you want, and exactly what components you are using.
    3) Yes
    4) Yes

Regarding performance, I do not need cutting speeds more than 3.5m/min. I do not care about rapid speed. I do not have any component yet, but I am willing to built it more rigid than my first machine by having thicker alu profiles.
Regarding electronics, I like the g540 drive but it supports only 4 axis and I see from other threads that it can be combined with a G251 which is a bit tricky, so I am looking for an easier way.
Also, could you please mention a bob that supports 5 axis? Was not able to find one from cnc4pc, for example.

Hi, what is the difference between the two drivers below?

DM556D Digital Stepper Motor Driver 50VDC/5.6A High Performance for CNC Router | eBay
Stepper Motor Driver Stepper Motor | Stepper Motor Driver | CNC Router | Laser Machine | 3D Printers For Sale

Does the keling one contains heatsink while the ebay one not?
    Why the price is half?

It seems that the design is the same, they are both digital.
    Am I missing something?

They appear to be the same. One is cheaper because it's coming directly from China.
Automation Technologies has to pay to have it shipped to them, and then make a profit on it, so they charge more.
