Port 1 Pins current State - input pins flickering on and off in diagnostics screen??

Switched from PNP prox's to microswitchs, wired NO with shielded 22awg 2 conductor cable. tied the shield on the cabinet end to earth ground. when I view the Mach3 diagnostics screen, the input pins flicker on and off, along with there respective Input switch indicator (yellow squares flickering on and off, constantly triggering reset) is my 400ma power cube to small for the long cable runs @22awg? Do I just need a better 5vdc power supply? why is the breakout board seeing this sporadic on off state? thanks.

Re: Port 1 Pins current State - input pins flickering on and off in diagnostics scre

    two questions
    1)
are all of your switches connected in parallel with both of the wires being connected to the breakout boards input ?
    2)
what breakout board are you using ? - some breakout boards have a high input impeadance

with normaly open switches the wiring is more likely to pickup electrical noise -
as a test trigger or short a switch and see what happends on the diagnostics screen
do you now have a solid green indication ?
