    hurco drip feed help

Is any one drip feeding their Hurco max or ultimax control? I just spoke with Jerry at highland DNC and he is unsure of what is needed to drip feed a hurco from his shop link and would like me to make sure this is possible with his unit before he sells it to me.

I have one of Jerry's USB gizmos and have it connected to my hurco md1 and md3. Works good. Easy to use.

Be very careful on what you connect to the rs233 port. I burned both of mine out by connecting it to a computer. I was told this was because the hurco is connected to a phase converter and the computer is connected to a secondary power source.

I connected Jerry's USB to the power on the hurco and have had zero issues with it.

If you have any questions just ask.

Thanks for the reply Steve, I have never fed the hurco through anything other than the 3-1/2 drive. Would I just set parameters to X-on X-off and to upload the program? Then it will know to pull from jerrys dnc and drip feed? Sorry for the lack of knowledge on this but I can seem to find much information on it

First you need to switch the editor to NC from conversational.

    Then read the file

    Then cycle start.

    It is that easy.

I have to re setup all the tools when I change editors.

If you want I can send you my phone number and I can walk you through the steps

Doesn't get much easier than that! I currently am using the 3-1/2 floppy for NC so I should be good to go. Any chance you'd be able to explain how to tie into the 110v supply like you spoke of? If it's easier for you to explain on the phone you can PM me your phone number and I'll give you a ring.

yes it works great except for when i run a large 3d contour program it can not keep up and the machine has to wait to get fed more code. is there anything that i can do to speed up how fast the code is fed to the machine?
