I am recently retired, but still want to use my Multicam 3000 for art work. I have been running Enroute 2.5 since I purchased the machine, unfortunately my windows 98 computer is dying and must upgrade to windows 10 system. Being retired, I can't afford the new Enroute upgrade. my question is: Can I install a cheaper 3-D milling program without having problems with the existing DNC? If so can anyone suggest a program.

I'm pretty sure the Enroute 2.5 will run just fine on a WinXP machine. You should be able to find a used XP computer for almost free. I ran into some communication issues trying to use Win10 with Multicam, and had to go back to Win7.

I'm sorry I was mistaken, I have Enroute V2.3, Will it still work, Plus I am wanting to upgrade to 3D machining.

You might take a look at Fusion 360 by AutoDesk. It's a full featured 3D modeling software, with a built in CAM program. It's free to hobbyists. Requires at least Win7 to run. You still have to run Job Server on the computer to communicate with the MultiCam processor. I use a USB to Serial adapter to communicate with the machine.

I suspect that Enroute V2.3 will run on XP just fine.
