Hi,
I would like to cut wood with a thickness of about 5 cm. Does anyone know how much pressure I need approximately? How can I find out which diameter I need for the jet ?

What sort of cut quality? With or without abrasive? What kind of wood?

I don't think theres any hard and fast rule but certainly more pressure will let you cut faster at a given cut quality. A .014 orifice/.040 mixing tube is a fairly common combo.

Hi,
thanks for the answers! The wood is soft (I have a lot of palm trees and therefore every year a lot of fronds which I would like to cut in smaller pieces). I don't want to use abrasive. The cut quality doesn't have to be good.

If you have a lot, I would do some testing. Generally speaking, a larger orifice should let you cut a little faster, as should more pressure.

If you're trying to use less pressure, I would start with whatever the default orifice size is normally, and work up from 20k based on how the cut test looks.
