    homing my chinese 3040

    Hello

I have been trying to get my axis to home on the front left corner in Mach3 to no avail. I not sure where to start and to be honest I have played with it some much... well it is hard. The tutorial deals with limit switches. I just want to position the spindle at the top of the z axis the front of the y and the far left of the x zero all and have Mach3 show that as zero on the display, any suggestions?????

Does it have working home switches, configured as home switches in Ports and Pins?

I programmed the home keys x-home pin 12; y-home pin 13; z-home pin 15, the plus and minus for each axis is also programmed to it's respective pins, basically the display is off centered and I am not sure where it starts and stops when I try to do a test run, but It goes far off the table and I have to e-stop the program

No because I have been playing around with the settings so everything at least I think everything is off.

Here are the screen shots for the current settings, the working table is about 300 mm wide by 500 mm long

Nothing, I thought that only worked with limit switches installed and the go to zero causes it to go all the way back and over shoot the z on the down stroke so I have to physically invoke a estop

I also get a message that "Safe z is turned off ignoring Safe z move" when I try to go to zero.

I guess I finally realize the question. No I have not installed switches on this machine yet.

Yes, you need home switches. If you don't have switches, do not configure ports and pins for them.

I just want to position the spindle at the top of the z axis the front of the y and the far left of the x zero all and have Mach3 show that as zero on the display, any suggestions?????
Then jog to where you want zero to be, and click the zero buttons to zero the axis.
Don't use Softlimits if you don't have home switches.

Yes, for SafeZ to be really effective, it needs to be in Machine Coordinates, which requires a home switch.
