So, I got a new machine. It has the nk260 controller, read through the manual, started playing with it a little the past couple of days. Noticed it was making very jerky cuts, kind of reminded me of back in the days of turbocnc with no constant velocity contouring. Looking at the manual, it has the ability to do look ahead in the code, but, the default is for the look ahead lines is 0. I have checked out the machine and mechanically it is sound. There isn't a huge amount of backlash, all the ways are oiled. So, software is where I figure that I need to make some minor adjustments. If I run the machine very slow, the jerkyness goes away, but who wants to cut at 40ipm when you could be ripping through material at 400.
So, if anyone has the passcodes to get into the settings I would sure appreciate it.
