    Belt Driven Spindle for a DIY Mill

    First off, I'm new to the forum so sorry if this post is in the wrong section. Anyways, I'm building a decent sized cnc mill with the intent of milling mostly aluminum, steel, and stainless. This thing is going to be beefy as all get out, made out of epoxy granite, 3/4" steel plate, and weighing in around 1,500 lbs. The thing I'm having trouble with is finding a supplier for a belt driven spindle that is a decent price. I'd like to pick one up for around $600, does anyone have any suggestions? Looking for RPM's that range from 100 - 8,000. Thanks.

    You can get 6000rpm 30 taper spindles from China for a reasonable price. See Aliexpress. Try searching CNC spindle. Quality, unknown.

    Tormach sells spindle cartridges.
    The 1100 is rated for 5,000 RPM @ $550. & the 770 is rated for 10,000 RPM @ $650.
    Obviously you would still have to fabricate for mounting but it's doable.
