Just about to set up my first water cooled spindle and I'm confused about what I should use for coolant. It will be a closed system with a small radiator coolng a 1.5 kW spindle.

Would you more knowledgeable and experienced folks share what you use in your spindles?

I was once warned that automotive coolant has additives in it to prevent leaks, these can cause problems when used in systems with small csa circuits.

I used cheap automotive 50/50 coolant for over a year with my Swiftech radiator/fan that rides along behind spindle. I read some negative feedback on automotive coolant and replaced with the cpu coolant (link below). The automotive coolant was same color as the day I put it in a year later when drained . Been almost another year with cpu coolant and still red in clear tubes. Great set up and highly recommend, only regret is I wish I made my fan filters more easily accessible to clean. Spindle goes 2-3 hours with 3d work and just gets warm to touch. Seen no difference for either coolant other than the price difference.
