Hello,

I decided to finally upgrade my homemade plasma CNC with a THC using the Proma controller.

I have it all connected and the diagnostics are displaying the ARC OK, UP, and DOWN signals but the Z axis isn't moving while cutting.

I did discover that if you have the Ethernet SS that there is the THC checkbox in the config screen but my USB config screen does not have this box.

Is there something I'm missing?

I emailed Warp9 and this is their reply in a nutshell:

The USS cannot support Mach3's THC function. You have to buy the ESS.

I bought the USS almost 3.5 years ago and don't recall seeing the info about the differences between the two boards other than one hooks up through USB and the other through Ethernet. So for those with USS and want a THC, you're SOL.

Warp9 will offer a swap at a cost.
