The Old Computer that uses Windows 98 died. then I start to migrate to Windows XP.

First is the Xilog3 I have the backup of complete folders
Seccond the Kvara I have the backup of complete folders

Then I start a clean setup of Windows XP.
I did the configuration to make Windows XP to behave as monoprocessor OS
Install the Drivers


Everything OK til now...
I upload the files to


When I try to Open the BaseMenu this Message Appears.

And Xilog as it shows on Attach 2

Need Help, I try everything... Serial Ports are Working Flawlessly as Serial Cable has been tested with sucess...

Verify the COM on the PC and CN.
Verify the file Xilog3.ini if the settings is COM correct and it is working correctly.

I have already check it for many times... it has the same configuration as it was in the old computer.

Try modify xilog3.ini.
Put ; in the third line and delete ; of the second line.
Because I remember the baud rate correct is 9600

I think I found the error, there's a file, params.cfg, I couldn`t copy that file, it say that file is corrupt...
that's the only thing is different between one folder to other...

Try to set to only one cpu core In msconfig( google it )
Other thing could be com cable. Pin 2 and 3 must be switched in win xp.

Phisical. On com cable from plc to pc are 3 wire. 2,3 and 5

Pins are swiched now but still have the same error

I`ve made everything that people recommend to do

But still I can not make it work in Windows XP, I wonder if it`s possible to make a Win9X VM, and make it work with standart Virtualized Serial PORT.

The same problem, can´t run the Xilog3 on XP or on higher WIN. Betancour have you solved it?
