    Mazak humming servo at idle

    Hi,

i have a new to me Mazak VTC20B -96 with Mazatrol M plus control.

    Servos: HA83NC-S
Drives: MDS-B-V1-10 and MDS-B-V2-1010 (dont know which one controls what)

occasionally my X axis servo starts humming when motion stops, it will go away after 10-15 secs or instantly if i move the axis again. Load % goes up when humming occours.

Normally at idle my X load is 4-6% higher than the Y axis.

Any advise on what to check?

    Thanks

    Gustav

Hi, look in your electric book, which servo is for X Y and Z? Or give a picture of the electric cabinet.

Are you able to look at the machine parameters?

Ok, try to change SV38 on X-axis down from 150 to 100 or 70. Get it better?

Check lubrication, then thrust bearings. You may need servo tuning, but that is a waste of time unless the mechanicals are good.
