    Getting the CD servostar enabled

I have a Servostar CD CE06250 AC brushless servo drive and am having trouble getting it to enable. The only condition that isn't met is the hardware enable. The manual says that a 12 to 24VDC external signal is required. I got that, attached the low wire to ground and the 24V to pin7 on connector3, then shorted pins 7 to 8 on connector3 (which should enable the hardware). Maybe there is some trick that i don't know.

My other guess is that a fuse is blown somewhere in the drive (this drive may have been previously used).

Never mine, i figured it out. 24V return goes to remote enable pin (pin8) the positive goes to pin 7.

It appears to me that Conn 3 should be +24 on 7 & pin 8 is enable, that should be connected to 24vcom.
Also usually all the motor phasing WRT the commutation has to be correct before the drive will enable.
Ooops, I see you found it.

    Hi Mackeym
I bought 3 servostar CD and 3 Servo motors for my CNC project without MotionLink software. I am new starter. Could you tell me what need to be done first.
    Thank you very much.

Here is the link to the Motionlink software, from Kollmorgen.
You will need a com port. If you are using a laptop with only usb ports you need a usb to serial adapter. They are cheap.
Download all the software they offer and use what you need to begin using it.
    Have fun...

Here is the link for the installation manual.
This should answer most questions, let me know...
Make sure your feedback and power cables for your motor are correct.

series 2 is just the older control card version; newest is series 5 (so CE06-550 insterad of CE06-250). it should be transparent to you and all manuals will give enough enough info for you for either.
