Last couple days I have been learning the MB2. Its not as difficult as I thought and is a very good board. Its a 24vdc board which is new to me but apparently not to many others
My relay board was 12vdc and this will not work. I bought this relay board/module from amazon to replace it:
....then I had to figure out and set the pulses per revolution and the acceleration. The Hitachi VFD's EA terminal for pulse stream input will
accept a max signal frequency of 32 Khz. At 24000 spindle rpm the VFD driving frequency is 400 hz or, 400 pulses per rotation if you do the math.
32000/400 = 80.
I didnt need max resolution for my spindle so I started with a setting of 32 in UCCNC. The acceleration I set at 50 steps/sec squared. I hit start button and the run command activated but the spindle didn't start. For a few seconds... then it started to spin and accelerate very slowly. And it only got to 200hz before it maxed out.
Anyway long story short, after a little experimentation, I set the steps per rotation up to 64 and the acceleration up to 10000. Then it worked great. I dont know why I had to set the acceleration so high. Anyway, its not on a machine yet but on the bench I'm pretty happy with how its working.
