Brother TC211 UCCNC conversion spindle motor hz?

    Hello!
I'm converting a Brother TC211 drill and tapping center to UCCNC with closed loop steppers and I am now stuck with the spindle motor, its a Toshiba ac servo motor
named RA 10M 1500w 220v, and thats the only thing I got on it, cant find any info on the net about it.
I want to run this with a vector vfd but the problem is that I do not know the main frequency of the motor, I have tried several different values: 50hz 75hz 100hz 150hz 200hz 250hz 300hz but the motor just cogg its way forward very slowly.
I had the same problem when I converted a Dahli with a fanuc spindle servo, at 50hz it behaved like this one but when I changed to 100hz it worked like a charm.
    Anyone have a clue?
And what is this main/standard/basic frequency by the way and why does it matter? why does it need some basic frequency when the frequency is variable?
Here is a picture of the top cover of the resolver on the motor.

Added encoder for spindle feedback and rigid tapping:

the spindle motor is an ac servo. you should have kept the original drive if possible which took +_10v analogue commands and output quadrature encoder signals. but if its gone/dead, then you need a drive that can run an ac servo. generally, this is not a VFD (not a cheap one anyway). look at the granite devices drives, these might be able to handle 1500w of power as well as the motors resolver.

Why would it not work with a VFD?

Is it likely that this is a synchronous motor? I thought most spindle servos was asynchronous.
That would explain why it does not work.

its an ac servo motor. all ac servo motors are synchronous.

there are some expensive vfds that will read encoders and run servos, like the delta c2000. but thats over $1000.

Seem like the easiest thing to do is to change the motor to a regular induction motor and fit the encoder to that.

These type of spindle servo motors does not seem to be synchronous though as I had no problem running one on a regular VFD in V/F mode.

the motor in that picture is an induction motor, and not an brushless ac servomotor.

technically "servo" just means any motor with feedback, "ac servomotor" usually means specifically a brushless permanent magnet motor with encoder feedback.

in any case, the brother motor is a brushless ac servo. exactly the same as what was driving the x y and z axes. just a little bigger. you will loose rigid tapping performance by changing the motor, but otherwise, its not important.
