    SHOPMASTER CNC TOOLPOST

Here is a short video on the CNC Toolpost which is a standard feature on the Turnado lathe. It is an option on the Mill Turn and also will work on all Patriot VFD units from 2009-2014.
The toolpost has a ratcheting design so that the turret rotates past the lock position, then the stepper reverses direction to force the turret solidly up against the stop, bringing each position back to zero. You will note the delay from the start of the stepper to the turret motion due to the internal design which has a clearance between each direction of motion. The turret is marked for tools 1-4 and you can program 90 degree motions from 1 to 4 one after another, or program to move to any specific position and return to any other specified position. The turret will accept tools up to 1" shank size.

We recently made a modification to the drive system on the toolpost to increase the tool changing speed. The new drive system is also more compact allowing more options on where you can position the toolpost on the table. We are offering an upgrade kit for those who bought the earlier version, and it is a simple bolt on assembly. There is also a macro program available which makes programming the toolpost very easy by simply choosing the tool number in the program line. The toolpost works with all Patriot machines from 2010 to 2014, all Turnado lathes and Mill Turn machines from 2015 to present. It can also work with Shoptask and Shopmaster machines 1990 to 2009 that are fitted with CNC.

I just saw this new video on the Youtube channel showing the toolpost in action.
