Re: New to me J330 and I'm totally lost looking for help

I tried to wire direct and the motor is very nice, quick, quite and no issues. I used the same test to half ways verify wiring to the motor as these wires are basically not accessible with the way they are run. Wiring to the VFD is new so I am not worried about them. I am sure it is a setting in the VFD. I get a temp overload (ETHN) message on the VFD however I am lost for tuning as I thought I had everything input correctly but this is all terribly new and unknown territory. Do you happen to know what parameter number for the setting you are referring to? Thanks in advance.

Hmm, I'm sure you have a copy of this?
    https://www.mrostop.com/media/catalo...ion-Manual.pdf

Did you mistype and are getting ETHM? I don't see a fault ETHN. For that fault go to the trouble shooting page 255. On that page you see the trouble shooting...
    :
    1. Check the motor for use under overload.
    2. Check that the setting of
    Pr. 71 Applied motor
    for motor selection is correct.
    (Refer to page 103).
    3. Check that stall preventi
    on operation setting is correct.
    Corrective action
    1. Reduce the load weight.
    2. For a constant-torque motor, set the constant-torque motor in
    Pr. 71 Applied motor
    .
    3. Check that stall preventi
    on operation setting is correct.
    (Refer to page 79).

It is ETHM (VFD displays ETHN) sorry about that. So far as the applied motor selection is there a good way for me to tell what method is going to best suit my motor. This is a older unit that I am having a hard time finding info about. I have the ID tags from it and know it is a Fanuc model 3 (A06B-1003-B100#2000). I am thinking the motor mode is set incorrectly as that parameter is still a factory default. I really appreciate the continued help...really do.

    Hey Kemlin,

Just back at my pc and seeing this... I honestly don't know what your motor setting should be? Chances are it won't hurt to try the constant-torque setting. Also, you should check the spindle-VFD forum... http://www.cnczone.com/forums/spindles-vfd/ Maybe someone there can help?

    Mike
