    Tapping. G84 or Long-hand?

    Hi guys,
I just installed my PathPilot upgrade from the old Mach3, yesterday.
I looked, but couldn't find the answer in my manual.
Should I write my tapping cycles in PathPilot using G84? Or should I continue to write tapping cycles the old way, as I did with Mach3, Long-handed?
I'm using the ER20 Tension / Compression tap holder.

I cant answer your question, but you should be aware of the G84 bug that was recently reported and is listed on Tormach's site (Issue # 1390). There's been more than a few broken taps because of it. More details here: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/hsm-p...6900371#M12682

    UPDATE.
Well, I finally got a paying job that required tapping.
So, I also, finally, got an opportunity to answer my own question.
I used the Conversational Tapping Wizard, and it spit out a G84 canned cycle program with a .2 second dwell (P.2)
    AH-HA!!!
So PathPilot DOES support G84 canned cycles!
    YAY!!!
No more Long-Hand programming for me.
PS- It ran and tapped like a dream. MUCH better than the old Mach3.
