We built a CNC machine using David Steele's CNC plans (www.solsylva.com) and designed a control board and software using our Stellaris ARM Cortex-M3-based microcontrollers to show how we can control three steppers with one very cost-effective MCU. The app note (AN01246), schematics, and software are available at www.LuminaryMicro.com. To build the CNC machine, you'll need to purchase a set of David Steele's plans; the use of our control design and software is free when used with Stellaris microcontrollers.
If you live in the California Bay area, we will be demonstrating the CNC machine live (with pen and paper, as the tradeshow people frown on sawdust :-) at the Embedded Systems Conference, April 3-5, 2007, booth 3077.
Enjoy!
