i have used it for chamfering a cross hole on a swiss machine and a milled radius that included comp for the end mill
but it is only limited by the math that you can think up
the only thing that is required is to transfer/copy from exel to something like note pad to make sure the formulas do not transfer with it
here is one i use

all i do is copy the machines x,y,and z (last 6 columns) to note pad then copy and past in to my program
you may have to neaten up the columns to make it look like it belongs in the program

hello all attached *.xls file ( provided by Okuma dealer ) generates programs for the Renishaw

those programs are loaded automatically into the control

how can i do the same ( automatically loading programs ) ? kindly

I think you can use okuma thinc api but it requires some programming knowledge.
I don't know how to do.

hey kurmay i was also thinking about API, but i dont have it yet.

there are many okuma applications, each one with its own specific, but none of them is loading programs; this does not mean that is not possible with API

the *.xls that i have does just that, so now i have to choose : learning API or learning macros in excel, and i really wanna shorten the learning cycle

i will just wait, maybe something happens ... however, i was thinking that maybe you have a magical floppy or something
